Mission and Values

The World of Cupping Academy provides high-quality training in the safe and ethical practice of Hijama (cupping therapy). We place a high value on professionalism, integrity, cultural sensitivity, and promoting holistic health and wellness.

Age Requirement

Students must be 18 years or older to enroll.

Language Proficiency

Courses will be conducted in English, and students must demonstrate adequate proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding this language.

Course Structure

The course is divided into modules covering both theoretical and practical aspects of wet cupping. Students must complete each module before progressing to the next.

Code of Conduct

Professionalism

Students must conduct themselves professionally in all interactions with peers, instructors, and during practical sessions. Respect, punctuality, and adherence to deadlines are mandatory.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course and passing all assessments, students will receive a certificate of completion, allowing them to practice Hijama in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Refund Eligibility

Students who wish to withdraw from this course in the first week will receive a 100% refund. A 50% refund of what was paid will be provided within two weeks of starting the course. No refunds will be provided after this period (Registration fee is non-refundable).

Plagiarism

All work submitted by students must be their own. Any form of plagiarism, including copying from others or submitting work not authored by the student, will result in disciplinary action.

Liability and Insurance

The school is not responsible for any injury or adverse effects that occur during unsupervised practice. Students must ensure that they practice in a safe, controlled environment. Graduates are advised to obtain professional liability insurance before offering Hijama services to the public.

Course Structure

  • Modular Learning: The course is divided into modules covering both theoretical and practical aspects of wet cupping.
  • Video Lessons: Pre-recorded lessons covering topics such as the history of wet cupping, anatomy, contraindications, and safety protocols.
  • Live Sessions: Scheduled live interactive sessions where students can ask questions and interact with instructors in real time.
  • Practical Training: Practical demonstrations of wet cupping techniques, hygiene, and safety protocols will be provided.
  • Self-Paced Learning: Students can complete the course at their own pace but must adhere to deadlines for practical assessments and exams.

Ethics in Practice

Students are expected to practice Hijama ethically, only on consenting adults and within their level of competence. Any form of exploitation or false claims about Hijama’s effectiveness is strictly prohibited.

Cultural Sensitivity

Hijama has deep roots in various cultures and religions. All students and staff must show respect for cultural diversity and the traditions associated with Hijama.

Non-Discrimination Policy

It is the academy's policy not to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other protected status.

Practical Training and Supervision

Hands-on Practice

Although the course is online, students are required to demonstrate their practical skills by practicing on themselves or a volunteer. Supervised sessions will be conducted through video conferencing, with instructors guiding and assessing techniques.

Examinations

There will be both written and practical exams to assess the student's knowledge and skills. It is necessary for students to achieve a passing grade in both areas in order to obtain certification.

Career Development

Among the services the school offers are workshops and resources on how to start and manage a successful Hijama practice, as well as legal, financial, and marketing advice.

Clinical Hours Requirement (if applicable)

Students are encouraged to complete additional clinical practice hours in-person, where possible, at recognized centers or clinics.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene

During practical sessions, students are required to follow strict sterilization protocols. It is essential that all equipment used during wet cupping be sterilized, and gloves must be worn at all times during the procedure.

Disciplinary Procedures

Any violation of the school’s policies, including safety, ethics, or academic integrity, will lead to disciplinary action. This may include warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the course.

Instructor Access

Instructors will be available via email, discussion boards, and scheduled virtual office hours for one-on-one support.

Hijama Cupping Therapy is considered a holistic, religious therapy and is not a medically approved procedure. Students are responsible for conducting thorough research and discovering the legal issues and regulations pertaining to hijama in their respective towns, cities, states, provinces, and countries. In the event that graduates, after being qualified by WOCA, are not able to practice Hijama legally in their own countries, WOCA cannot be held liable or responsible.
